Do you think it matters?

I'm really smart and I'm Tech or Walter Payton. But my dad keep saying if I get accepted I'm not going because of the distance he'd rather me go to a crappy school I can walk to than a really nice school I worked really hard for I only have to take two buses he is way to over protective or what what do you think is that bogus or what?
