Public daycare Vs. at home daycare..?

I prefer an in home daycare with someone I trust. For example, the lady who babysat me as a child has baby sat both my kids. I knew she was a good person, who truly cared about kids, and never mistreated me. Both my kids love her like a grandmother. I fell very lucky to know her, and she still helps me out to this day. However the whole public daycare things scares me. I have heard too many horror stories from co-workers about public daycare. Just my opinion!
