Will my fella be safe as he is going to Northen Oman on the 12th May as he is in the RAF?

Will we all hope so, at least it is less dangerous than Iraq or Afghanistan, God bless him and every one with him. My son is in the British Army, he went in to defend his country, then he was send to Afghanistan, he and all his mates always ask this question, Why we're here for? but no one was able to answer him.
