Who used to play Bill Spencer on B & B?

I saw the commercial where Don Diamont (Y&R's Brad Carlton) is playing his character. He looks y as hell in the promo's. But besides that I was trying to figure out who was Bill Spencer's character and who used to play him so I have an idea.
