Is this a good story idea?

Mmk, well it includes too much pollution has completely broken the o-zone layer, ( I have exaggerated the extent of the damage ) and the the sun is now complete blare down on the earth, anything that stands in the sunrays instantly burns into nothing in a matter of seconds, although nature is affected by this, all that is left is muddy and sandy deserts of the whole world, and you are lucky to find water deep down in the ground. But the main part is, you can defend yourself with anything reflective, and others have survived by digging their own burrows and only leaving at night, even though their skin will still burn from the sunlight reflecting off the moon. The main idea of the story is, scientists trying to make a small dome which will either be reflective, or dim the effects of the sun. Just thinking, is there any problems with the story, and what type of way to write it.
