Who has advice for my sick Quaker Parrot? I can not afford to take him to the vet.?

Your bird is extremely sick form the description you are giving. Once a birds wont take food & water & cant perch there is a mive chance he wont make it. He definatley wont make it without vet care, I know its expensive but your bird life is very much at stake. This bird has gone beyond home remedies & needs to see an avian vet, phone around some will help you financially or arrange a long term payment plan rather than just let him die. Remove him from the bottom of the cage & place him in a small comfortable box out of draughts & sunlight, dont overheat but keep him warm. Give him water hourly day & night. Dont give him yogurt it has No nutritional value to him at all. You need a critical care formula or an avian specific weaning formula.I wouldnt suggest any human meds at all. Your vet would probably put him on a drip to keep him alive & then find out the problem & treat it accordingly. If you were critically ill or another mamber of your family you would see a doctor , this is no different. If you cant provide vet care, an important part of keeping an animal you should consider handing him over to some who can, I dont mean any disrespect but I deal daily with birds who on the very edge of life because their owners cant afford to provide proper care. My rescue birds vet bills are in the thousands every year but they are worth every penny, give your bird a fighting chance.
